Sunrise Global Trading (SGT) has been a trusted supplier of premium adaptogenic herbs and herbal extracts since 1991. Known for its focus on quality and innovation, SGT partners globally with health and dietary supplement companies to deliver ingredients that support the development of wellness products.
The Challenge
One of SGT’s customers’ products, a vitamin C and apple pectin blend, was experiencing significant stability issues. In liquid form, the product reacted with water and oxygen to generate CO2, causing leakage of their bottled product. This led to vitamin C levels falling below the label claim. To solve this, SGT needed to convert the formulation into a powdered product that could extend shelf life while preserving functionality.
Beyond this project, SGT also sought to enhance the performance and stability of their own Adaptogen blend through powder development.
APD’s Solution
Advanced Powder Dynamics partnered with SGT to address these challenges by rapidly developing, scaling, and commercializing a powdered version of the vitamin C blend. Our team applied advanced particle engineering techniques to achieve optimal density, solubility, and flowability, while ensuring the highest possible mg/gram concentration of modified citrus pectin.
Building on the success of this project, APD initiated development of a powdered adaptogen blend, conducting evaluation and R&D work to prepare the product for commercialization.
Our Results
APD successfully completed product development and the first production run of the vitamin C – apple pectin powder, delivering a stable product with extended shelf life. The second product, a powdered adaptogen blend, is now in the onboarding phase, with commercialization underway.
With this collaboration, we helped SGT gain innovative powdered product solutions that extend shelf life and maintain efficacy, strengthening their offerings in the health and dietary supplement market.
